For Mac Os X 10.13 High Sierra Last Download So
This morning I updated macOS High Sierra from 10.13.3 to 10.13.4. It appeared to install fine (I got to the login window), so I clicked on 'Shutdown', and when I got to the office, and turned on my Mac, it rebooted into recovery, with the Installer Log open, and a dialog that read, 'The macOS Installation couldn't be completed'.
During a file renaming (clicked on with ENTER, then added a new name to it) OS X 10.13 High Sierra keeps the new name for only several seconds, than reverts it into the old one. Other infos: The folder contains 144 ZIP file, which should be renamed manually - it can't be renamed by batch - it is located in my Downloads folder which is not synced with Time Machine. I have upgraded to High Sierra, and allowed to APFS - the new file system - on my Samsung SSD EVO 850 (500GB), which is changed by me nearly a year ago in my MacBook Pro 15' 2012 Late. I do not have this issue with previous versions of OS X.
Why does it happening, how to stop it? My work should be done without issues.

Same problem here. I got HS installed and running properly in VMware Workstation 12.5.7, thumbs up.
The exactly same VM, copied over 1:1, will freeze at the Apple logo on different hardware (Dual CPU XEON based HP Workstation with 8 Cores and 16GB RAM). Seems there is a dependency with the underlying hardware. On another machine the VM won’t boot properly (crash after approx. 10% progress bar) unless I remove the USB device from the VM, which is pointless, since this will kill keyboard and mouse support in the VM. High Sierra will, however, boot right to the login screen.
